The iM4U Programme on Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) ‘A Journey of Hope – Now and the Future’ was held on 9 May 2017 from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at Perdana Hall, MITI Tower. The programme was co-organised by PUSPANITA Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) and PUSPANITA Ministry of Human Resources (MOHR), in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and We CARE Journey. This is to ensure their financial needs are secured and able to deliver the project according to the predetermined schedule. The financing package is special because it allows the contractors or vendors to start the project in advance through a 15% early disbursement from their overall approved financing amount. The Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry (METI) Japan and the Society of Japanese Aerospace Companies (SJAC) conducted an aerospace mission to Kuala Lumpur hosted by the National Aerospace Industry Coordinating Office (NAICO), MITI.
The mission aims for the Japanese delegates to gain an insight on the latest developments in the aerospace industry in Malaysia and explore possibilities for international collaboration with Malaysian counterparts. The mission consist of 36 delegates from major aerospace companies in Japan namely Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd (FHI), Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd (KHI), Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd (MHI), IHI Corporation, Japan Airlines Co. Ltd. and NIPPI Corporation.

On Monday, 20th February 2017, YB Datuk Chua Tee Yong, Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry (“MITI”) had visited three companies in Ipoh, Perak, to view their facilities and learn more about each company’s operations and successes. The companies visited were the Chek Hup Group of Companies, MRC Industries Sdn Bhd, and Ipoh International School Sdn Bhd. The Chek Hup Group of companies is a manufacturer of rock sugar and instant beverages such as coffee, tea, and chocolate drinks. They have leveraged upon the soft loan schemes extended by MIDF since 2008, namely the Soft Loan Scheme for Small & Medium Enterprises (“SLSME”).
