On 22 September 2016 in Putrajaya, YB Minister MITI, Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed attended the signing ceremony of the agreement between General Electric (GE) and Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) for the sale of LEAP-1B engines to power 25 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft through CFM International, a 50-50 joint company between GE and Safran Aircraft Engines. GE also signed an MoU to collaborate with MAB in the area of leadership development and continuous improvement.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by YAB Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, MAB Chairman Tan Sri Mohd Nor Mohd Yusof and GE Chairman & CEO, Mr Jeff Immelt.
Earlier, the Minister was also in attendance during the courtesy call by Mr. Immelt and Mr. Wouter van Welsch CEO of GE ASEAN on YAB PM.
