Ms. Wan Suraya Wan Mohd Radzi, Deputy Secretary General (Strategy and Monitoring) of MITI presented the Country Paper on Malaysia at the recent Symposium on “E-commerce, ASEAN Economic Integration and Competition Policy and Law” organised by the ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute in Singapore on 16 March 2017.
The Symposium gathered experts and participants from various backgrounds including policy makers, regulators, academicians, and developers as well as users of e-commerce platforms around the region. The aim is to share best practices and enhance understanding on various countries’ ecosystem as well as challenges faced.
During the Symposium, Malaysia took the opportunity to share the current initiatives undertaken by the National eCommerce Council (NeCC) to promote eCommerce growth and the outlook for this fast-growing sector under the National eCommerce Strategic Roadmap (NeSR).
YB Dato’s Sri Mustapa Mohamed, MITI Minister together with the National eCommerce Council (NeCC) members attended the a briefing by leading eCommerce players held in conjunction with the NeCC meeting on 15 March 2017.

Starting her business as a simple blogshop, EDZ has expanded its market presence by having a full-fledged business. Through the eTRADE Programme, EDZ has joined Amazon.com and managed to get sales from the US clients.
