On 12 February 2017 (Sunday), Wisma Putra hosted a Friendship Golf Tournament between Wisma Putra and MITI at the Seri Selangor Golf Club. Secretaries-General, YBhg. Datuk Seri J.Jayasiri and YBhg. Dato’ Ramlan Ibrahim led their respective Ministry. MITI Team comprised golfers from Kelab Golf MITI (KGM), MIDA and MPC won the tournament by 8 points (Best of Seven Format).
The friendly tournament provided a good platform for representatives from both Ministries to network and exchange views on various issues, particularly those involving Malaysia’s interest in the international arena.
In line with MITI’s aspiration to boost engagement with stakeholders from various backgrounds, KGM will initiate more friendly matches in the future.
52 officials from various ministries and agencies participated in the International Trade Issues Workshop co-organized by MITI and Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSiS), Singapore. The 3-day workshop aimed to provide opportunities for government officials to learn more about issues and challenges faced in implementing international trade policies such as FTA, TPP, WTO and RCEP. It also focused on Global Value Chains and Trade Policies Formulation.
Eight (8) ministries, i.e. Ministry of Finance (MOF), Economic Planning Unit (EPU), Ministry of Plantation Industrial and Commodity (MPIC), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (NRE), Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and Ministry of Works (MOW) joined MITI and its agencies at the workshop.
