17 April 2017 - Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) had successfully organized the Engagement Session with Regulatory Coordinators (RC) on the Implementation of Good Regulatory Practice today. The aim of the session were to increase the understanding among Regulatory Coordinators; updates and provides feedback on the status of GRP Implementation at ministries and agencies and get feedback on issues and challenges faced by Ministries and Agencies in the implementation of GRP. This half-day event was attended by more than 70 participants from various ministries and government agencies.

28 Feb 2018 - YB Dato' Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister of International Trade and Industry together with HE Dr. Ghassan Ahmed Al-Sulaiman, Governor of Small and Medium Enterprise Authority of Saudi Arabia, officiated the Malaysia-Saudi Arabia Business Forum organized by the Ministry of Commerce and Investment, Saudi Arabia through its Commercial Office in Kuala Lumpur. The event was held in collaboration with the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA).
The objectives of the Business Forum were to:
• Promote and highlight business and investment opportunities in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia; and
• Provide a platform to discuss and exchange views on issues related to trade and investment and ways to enhance bilateral economic relations.

Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed, YB Minister of International Trade and Industry attended the 2016 APECMinisterial Meeting held in Lima, Peru from 17 - 18 November 2016.
Under the theme of Quality Growth and Human Development APEC Ministers exchanged views on the state of the regional and global economy and how, against this backdrop, APEC can promote voluntary reforms in support of free trade and capital mobility, boost SMEs’ internationalization and participation in global value chains; and adopt shared goals to maximize the opportunities offered by digital trade, services and the knowledge economy.
Y.B. Datuk Chua Tee Yong, Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry (MITI) officiated RUAG Aviation Malaysia (RUAG) 1st component Maintenance, Repair & Overall (MRO) facility in KLIA Aeropolis Subang on 17 November 2016. RUAG’s service center in Malaysia will provide MRO services for aircraft component, particularly turboprop and helicopters to local customers as well as those in the region. RUAG is also an authorised service center for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) such as Airbus Helicopters, Bell, Bombardier, Cirrus, Cessna, Diamond, Dassault Aviation, Embraer, Leonardo-Finmeccanica (Agusta Westland), Piaggio, Sikorsky, Pilatus, Piper and Mooney.

YB Datuk Hj Ahmad Hj Maslan, Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry recently made a working visit to Sabah from 5-6 November 2016. During his visit, the Deputy Minister took the opportunity to visit Mama Best Food Manufacturer Sdn Bhd. located at the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP).
Mama Best Food is one of the first Bumiputera companies in Sabah involved in the production of frozen food certified halal. The company is registered with SME Corp and MATRADE and has received assistance from SME Corp in their efforts to expand production. The company is now looking to expand its market beyond Sabah. Joining Datuk Ahmad during the visit were the CEO of KKIP, Mr Melvin Disimond as well as officers from MITI, MATRADE and SME Corp.
The visit was a good opportunity for MITI and its agencies to engage with local SME companies and entrepreneurs as well as identify potential companies that can be further developed through MITI and Agencies’ assistance...
52 officials from various ministries and agencies participated in the International Trade Issues Workshop co-organized by MITI and Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSiS), Singapore. The 3-day workshop aimed to provide opportunities for government officials to learn more about issues and challenges faced in implementing international trade policies such as FTA, TPP, WTO and RCEP. It also focused on Global Value Chains and Trade Policies Formulation.
Eight (8) ministries, i.e. Ministry of Finance (MOF), Economic Planning Unit (EPU), Ministry of Plantation Industrial and Commodity (MPIC), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (NRE), Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and Ministry of Works (MOW) joined MITI and its agencies at the workshop.
MIDF organised the MIDF Logistics Forum & Dialog at MITI Tower on 22 September 2016. The program was launched by MITI Deputy Minister, YB Datuk Chua Tee Yong. He also delivered a speech at the program, MIDF Logistics Forum & Dialog was organised for the benefit of those in the logistics industry. The program was also attended by MIDF’s Head of Development Finance Division, Encik Azizi Hj. Mustafa. The forum and dialogue session discussed the challenges and opportunities available for the logistics industry. The forum and dialogue session also discussed the strategies to meet the targets set under the logistics masterplan.
Panellists of the MIDF Logistics Forum and Dialog were made up of representatives from The Malaysia Institute of Transport (MITRANS), Ministry of Transport and Federation of Malaysian Freight Forwarders.

Program tersebut telah dirasmikan oleh Timbalan Menteri MITI, YB Datuk Chua Tee Yong. Beliau turut menyampaikan ucapan di program tersebut. MIDF Logistics Forum & Dialog dianjurkan bagi manfaat mereka yang berada dalam industri logistik. Program tersebut turut dihadiri oleh Ketua Bahagian Kewangan Pembangunan MIDF, Encik Azizi Hj. Mustafa. Sesi forum seta dialog tersebut telah membincangkan cabaran serta peluang yang terdapat bagi industri logistik. Turut dibincangkan adalah strategi untuk mencapai sasaran di bawah pelan induk logistik.
