The official launch of the National eCommerce Strategic Roadmap by YAB Prime Minister recently took place on 13 October 2016 at the sidelines of the 28th MSC Malaysia Implementation Council Meeting (ICM) in Putrajaya.
Present at the event were MITI Minister, YB Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed as Chair of the National eCommerce Council (NeCC) and other Cabinet Ministers as well as leading eCommerce stakeholders involved in the preparations of the Strategic Roadmap including Pos Malaysia, GDeX, Google, Facebook, Lazada, Lelong, 11street, ManagePay and PIKOM.
The Roadmap marks another milestone in the Government’s efforts towards driving the national eCommerce agenda. ASEAN Border Trade (ABT) 2016 was organised by MATRADE at Grand Riverview Hotel, Kota Bharu, Kelantan from 30 September to 2 October 2016. The programme featured three main segments namely an exhibition, business matching session and seminar. The event was officiated by Minister of International Trade and Industry, YB Datuk Chua Tee Yong on 1 October 2016 and was officially closed by Minister of International Trade and Industry YB Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed. The inaugural event was also attended by Deputy Minister of Commerce, Royal Kingdom of Thailand H.E Winichai Chaemchang.

Program ini merangkumi 3 segmen utama iaitu pameran, sesi pemadanan perniagaan dan seminar.Upacara perasmian telah dilaksanakan oleh Timbalan Menteri Perdagangan Antarabangsa dan Industri, YB Datuk Chua Tee Yong pada 1 Oktober 2016. Manakala, perasmian seminar dan penutup acara dilakukan Menteri Perdagangan Antarabangsa dan Industri YB Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed pada 3 Oktober 2016. Acara julung kali ini juga telah dihadiri Timbalan Menteri Perdagangan Thailand Winichai Chaemchang.
SME Corp. Malaysia today hosted more than 100 participants from private companies, particularly Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) for the Initial Public Offering (IPO) Seminar 2016 - “Stairway to Listing. The event aims to support the Government’s agenda in assisting local SMEs raise capital and their respective profiles, as well as for the SMEs to gain a better understanding of the processes and procedures involved in a public fund raising exercise. The Seminar was jointly organised by SME Corp. Malaysia, Bursa Malaysia Berhad, MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Berhad and Unit Peneraju Agenda Bumiputera (TERAJU). YB Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister of International Trade and Industry, was the Guest of Honour and participated in the dialogue session with SMEs.

The meeting today deliberated on “Alternative Funding as an Enabler for Aspiring SMEs”, in line with the Government’s aspiration in closing the gap between start-ups and early stage financing.
