The Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry (METI) Japan and the Society of Japanese Aerospace Companies (SJAC) conducted an aerospace mission to Kuala Lumpur hosted by the National Aerospace Industry Coordinating Office (NAICO), MITI.
The mission aims for the Japanese delegates to gain an insight on the latest developments in the aerospace industry in Malaysia and explore possibilities for international collaboration with Malaysian counterparts. The mission consist of 36 delegates from major aerospace companies in Japan namely Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd (FHI), Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd (KHI), Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd (MHI), IHI Corporation, Japan Airlines Co. Ltd. and NIPPI Corporation.
The program started with the welcoming remarks by YBhg. Datuk Seri J. Jayasiri, Secretary General MITI and remarks by the Head of METI/SJAC delegation, Mr. Yasuhiro Hamanaka, Acting Chairman of International Committee SJAC who is also the Vice President of Aerospace Company, Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. The program followed with presentations by NAICO, Malaysia Aerospace Industry Association (MAIA), METI, SJAC, SPIRIT AeroSystems Malaysia and CTRM Aero Composites. Later, the Japanese delegation visited Spirit AeroSystems Malaysia, MARA Aero Tech and Strand Aerospace Malaysia.
