Hungary-Perak Business Seminar

MITI Perak recently organised the 'Hungary-Perak Business Seminar' on 29 September 2016 in Ipoh. The seminar was officiated by YB Dato' Mohamad Zahir bin Abdul Khalid, Perak State Committee Chairman for Industry, Investment and Corridor Development and attended by H.E. Mr. Attila Kali, Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary and Dr Emilia Fabian, Head of the Office of Economic Affairs, Embassy of Hungary in Malaysia. More than 100 participants comprising head of agencies, presidents of business associations and captain of industries in Perak attended the seminar.
This was the first outreach programme initiated by the Hungarian Embassy outside Kuala Lumpur after it was officially re-opened in May 2015, with the primary focus of facilitating the enhancement of economic relations between Malaysia and Hungary.
In his keynote address, YB Dato' Zahir urged all local industry players to establish ties with officials from the Embassy of Hungary for further engagement in the future. The Perak State Government also supports the revival of trade negotiations between Malaysia and the EU and hoped that both countries would enjoy the positive effects of such an agreement.
MIDA, PKNP and PERDASAMA highlighted in their presentations on the 'Business and Investment Opportunities in Perak'. Hungary is especially interested to look for business opportunities in Perak particularly in the area of smart city technologies including energy efficient city lighting, healthcare industry and automotive.
