Datuk Chua Tee Yong, Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry (MITI) officiated RUAG Aviation Malaysia (RUAG) 1st component Maintenance, Repair & Overall (MRO) facility in KLIA Aeropolis Subang on 17 November 2016. RUAG’s service center in Malaysia will provide MRO services for aircraft component, particularly turboprop and helicopters to local customers as well as those in the region. RUAG is also an authorised service center for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) such as Airbus Helicopters, Bell, Bombardier, Cirrus, Cessna, Diamond, Dassault Aviation, Embraer, Leonardo-Finmeccanica (Agusta Westland), Piaggio, Sikorsky, Pilatus, Piper and Mooney. Minister of International Trade and Industry, YB Dato 'Sri Mustapa Mohamed conducted a Dialogue Session on October 9, 2016 to obtain views and feedback on the challenges faced by SMEs in Kelantan. In addition to the Dialogue Session, YBhg. Datuk (Dr) Hafsah Hashim, Chief Executive Officer of SME Corp. Malaysia during the briefing session shared the assistance provided by the Government through SME Corp. Malaysia in ensuring SMEs in Kelantan are involved in the national development process. The briefing and dialogue session conducted by SME Corp. Malaysia (an agency under MITI) was attended by more than 1200 participants namely SMEs in Kelantan, industry associations, chambers of commerce, universities and representatives from various ministries and agencies.

YB Dato’ Seri Ong Ka Chuan, Minister of International Trade & Industry II officiated the opening of GE Malaysia’s new headquarters and GE Regional Office at Nu Sentral Tower 2 Kuala Lumpur today, together with Mr John G. Rice, Vice Chairman of GE/CEO GE Global Growth. Almost all of GE’s main businesses including (GE Power, GE Oil & Gas, GE Energy Connections, GE Healthcare & GE Global Growth Organization) and GE’s remote monitoring & diagnostic centre for GE O&G and GE Power will be based at this new office. This is GE’s largest facility in Malaysia in terms of manpower with ~800 GE employees.
